I have always been interested in games throughout my life. I love a mixture of game genres and sometimes even like to set up my old consoles for some nostalgia. Recently I treated myself to the PlayStation Classic. I own the original PlayStation however I wanted to see how it compares. The games on the console have not been updated this is to truly capture the nostalgia of the console.
The PlayStation Classic comes with:
PlayStation Classic body
X2 PlayStation controllers.
20 Build in games.
HDMI cable
Power cable.
PlayStation Manual
The First main difference is the console itself, it is actually 45% smaller than the original console. This make the console more compact and easy to move around. There are 2 simple wires that are connected to set the console up, this is the power and HDMI wires. The only problem I have with this product is there is no plug provided with the console, so you will also need a plug that can connect a USB wire. These plugs can be bought for a cheap price, but I was expecting the console to be complete.
Once the console is set you you will hear the same original sounds from the PlayStation 1, honestly hearing these sounds made me feel like a kid again. The console then boots up the list of 20 in built games. There is a good mixture of games included, some more popular than others but there is something for everyone.
Games included are:
Battle Arena Toshinden
Cool Boarders 2
Destruction Derby
Final Fantasy VII
Grand Theft Auto
Intelligent Qube
Jumping Flash
Metal Gear Solid
Mr Driller
Oddworld: Abe's Oddysee
Revelations: Persona
Rayman
Resident Evil Director's Cut
R4: Ridge Racer Type 4
Super Puzzle Fighter II Turbo
Syphon Filter
Tekken 3
Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six
Twisted Metal
Wild Arms
The game menu has images of each of the games covers to allow the user to see what style of game it is. The images of the games really set in how the games will look when loaded, this images are very pixelated like the old games used to look. The buttons on the play station classic are very simple on how to change games and go back to the menu, this creates a very enjoyable environment and makes it more fast pace when changing games.
